The New Year is approaching...wow, time flys doesn't it? This past year went by so fast. I'm anxious for a new year to start. The new year will be a new beginning on many things, and will bring to a close things that need to be put to rest.
I have two grandchildren who will be making their way into our world in the coming year. I think often about how different the world is now than when I grew up and again when I raised my children. It's shocking in many ways. I would be frightened to death to raise children in the world now. I pray for my grandbabies every day. It's a scary world out there now.
I apologize to those that commented to my last posting, I've not been on much in awhile, but I finally got your comments posted. This time of year is hard for me without my parents. Christmas was their favorite Holiday. And I came down with pneumonia, so that's been fun.
The new year will put to rest the question of whether Raye Dawn will be getting out of prison. Her appeal decision should be coming in any day. When it comes back she will be spending the next 20+ years where she is, it will finally be over. I have no doubt she will serve out her entire 27 yr sentence as it should be. Those that have spent the last several years lying and manipulating the truth to try to gather support for her and free her from prison will have to move on and find something else to obssess over. And she will have to learn to accept her fate. Kelsey's family will never have "normal" again. They will have to learn a new "normal" for their family for the rest of their lives. It is my wish that the new year will bring the Briggs family peace and joy once again in their family and lives and hearts. They deserve so much more. So did little Kelsey.
Hopefully the new year will bring answers and a closing to the case of Caylee Anthony and the person responsible for that child's death will be punished to the full extent of the law.
Against my better judgement I bought "the book". The kindle version is hard to read as many pages the words all run together. It's exactly as expected. Mostly just a trash Kathie Briggs book and accusing her of crimes she did not commit. I kinda skimmed through it the first time. I'll be going back and reading it a little closer and will be posting my tho'ts and opinions...and yes it's legal for me to do that. It's full of deceit, just like was expected. Those that have been in the forefront of the lies and deceit will have to answer one day to God for what they do, just like everyone else. I'd hate to be them. The truth will prevail for Kelsey Briggs, I have no doubt. Most of the book is just copied materials. Pages and pages of copied news reports, RD's appeal, things like that. My personal opinon is don't waste your money. The kindle version is only $9.99 so if you buy that you won't be wasting too much money. Kindle also has a 7 day return policy on Kindle books.

Death Penalty
I'm sitting here watching the movie "In The Name Of The People", starring Richard Thomas, Scott Bakula and Amy Madigan. It's about a man on death row for the murder of a teenage girl. He has a young daughter himself.
I've seen it before, it's a good movie but sad. The movie makes you think. It shows a side of the senseless cruel crime of murder that we don't often think about. The man on death row has his mother taking care of his child but his mother's health isn't good. The girls grandmother dies and there's no one to care for the man on death rows little girl.
I don't know how I feel about the death penalty. Sometimes with a heinous crime, I think the DP is warranted. Other times I don't know that that is the right thing to do. This movie makes the confusion even stronger. How do you explain to a child, that what their parent has done by killing someone is so wrong, yet the state turns around and kills the killer...how confusing that must be to an innocent child. How do you justify that to a child? I don't know.
Often times when we hear of a killing, we are quick to say put them to death for their crime. We don't often think about the family's of the one who committed the crime. Aren't they a victim too? I believe if they didn't know what was going on and there wasn't anything they could do to stop what happened, they are. Especially the children.
We can't say, "oh well, this person has children so we can't put them to death", as that isn't even feasable, alot of murderers and rapists, child predators, etc., do have children of their own.
I feel so sorry for the little girl in this movie. The kids at school are cruel to her. Someone puts a drawn picture of a man hanging on her locker. The same day, a boy after school sees her walking his way and takes the winter scarf around his neck and pulls it up like he's hanging, for her to see. (She beats him up and good for her) Kids can be so cruel.
The recent killings in Ohio, where they found the 13 yr old girl in the perps basement, tied up & gagged, her mother, brother and family friend missing. The killer a few days after arrested, tells LE where the bodies of the girls family is. He killed them, put them in garbage bags and hoists them up inside a hollow tree. When they pull the victims out of the tree, the family dog is also inside, also killed. This man's been in prison before...for arson. Setting fire to an apt. complex with 16 people inside. Sixteen people who could have died in that fire. My opinion, they should have charged him with 16 counts of attempted murder plus the arson and kept his sorry ass in prison. Now look what he escalated to. Does he deserve the death penalty? He does in my opinion.
Zahra Bakers killer(s)? Do they deserve the death penalty? My gosh, that little girl battled cancer, lost a leg and most of her hearing and survived. Only to be abused and treated like shit, then to be killed, her body taken apart and scattered around in several different areas. I'm not buying the evil stepmothers claims that they didn't kill her, that she found her dead. I don't know what the father's part in all this is. I think the stepmother killed her though. If Zahras father cut her body up and disposed of her, he's just as evil as his wife.
Another teenage girl is missing, 15 yrs old. They believe she is with her 44 year old uncle, who is a convicted sex predator. Are they going to find her alive? The father found inappropriate sexual text messages on his daughters phone from his OWN BROTHER. He takes her phone away from her? He punishes the 15 yr old child, but doesn't turn his brother in to law enforcement, knowing that his brother has been convicted of sex crimes? I heard a short interview with the mother of the 15 yr old. She was very evasive and making excuses, and basically lied when asked questions about why the uncle was allowed to stay in the same house as her daughter. She said he wasn't staying there...and he wasn't, because he'd been kicked out after the text messages were found.
Is there any blame on her own parents? In my opinion, there is. They should have called the law and turned him in. He would have went to jail and not been out to take off with her.
Every day we turn the tv or radio on, or pick up a newspaper another child's life is lost. Many at the hands of a parent, or mommy's boyfriend/daddy's girlfriend. Many of the mothers know the man is abusive and has harmed the child before. How do we stop this? I'm appalled at the short sentences many of these child killers get off with. If they started giving life for a child's life that is taken, would that make a difference? What if they made it mandantory DP? SOMETHING has got to work to make these people think before they take the life of an innocent child!!!!!!
I know there are a handful of people that will read this and question why I don't have the same sympathy for the Smith family. I'll tell you why. They knew Kelsey was being abused and did absolutley nothing to stop it or prevent what happened to her in the end. They can claim innocence all they want, but the facts prove that Kelsey was being hurt before she was taken away from Raye Dawn, she wasn't hurt or have bruises the entire time she was out of Raye Dawns care, but immediately upon return to Raye Dawn, she was being injured and bruised again. THAT FAMILY SAW KELSEY deteriorate the last months of her life....none of the Briggs family was in her life during that time, so there was NO WAY that any of them were hurting Kelsey. That left Raye Dawn and Mike Porter. They knew it was one of the two and still did nothing to help Kelsey. THAT is why I have no sympathy for them. NONE. Those that saw Kelsey those last months are just as responsible for not helping save that little girl. And if Gayla covered up what RD did to Kelsey that day, she should be in jail too. She knows something...she was on the phone that day with RD during the time that Kelsey & RD were supposedly napping. Prood? Gayla's phone records were subpeoned by Porters attorney. WHY did neither of them mention that? Why didn't the DA investigate that? WHY, WHY, WHY???

As I've gotten several questions about this I will answer it here. Several have asked if a "disclaimer" will keep you from getting sued. The answer is simple. NO.

79 reported DV homicide victims in Oklahoma
The day before yesterday I was made aware of a balloon release for DV victims at our local courthouse. I had a message from a child advocate that had helped me and my children in our DV case, asking me to contact the local DV advocate as she was wanting me to speak at the balloon release. As I didn't get the message until the night before, I declined because I didn't have much time to prepare anything. After attending yesterday, I'm sorry now I didn't speak.
First of all, I have to question several things. One being why would a DV organization wait until the END of the month of awareness for DV to have this? Second, why wasn't the director of the program in attendance? And why weren't they more prepared? And why were there no flyers or anything around town to let people know about this? I suppose something is better than nothing, but come on. You would think you would want to bring attention to this at the beginning of the month for one thing. You would think you would get the word out so more people could attend and you would think you would be prepared.
The advocate started out by saying that this was a balloon release for Domestic Violence and that there were 79 balloons for the 79 DV victims, including children in the state of Oklahoma the past year. She then stated she was going to read a poem she found on the internet, which she read. They passed out the balloons while a song played and the balloons were released. Then they ate BBQ sandwiches. That was it. No statistics, no nothing else. Most of the people in attendance worked at the courthouse. ONE of the Judges, who is always at anything to do with DV, the Sheriff, several officers and women from the courthouse. Very few people outside of those from the courthouse. A great opportunity to get the attention of a Judge and law enforcement that deal with DV on a daily basis just slipped by. I suppose something is better than nothing, but come on.
I am really aggravated that the Director of the DV program couldn't take 15 min. out of her Friday to make an appearance. She's got to be the sorriest "director" of such a program I've ever seen. Yes, that's my opinion based on many years experience with this woman. I as well as several others were completely appalled at a public meeting where she outright blamed a victim for being killed. I'll save that for maybe another day as that story is very hard for me.
A few days ago, I found out this same director is also the head of some new program to find alternatives to jail time for offenders....WHAT??? This is what advocates for abuse victims have fought long and hard for!!! And now the director of a program that is supposed to be standing up for and fighting for VICTIMS OF ABUSE is trying to find ways to keep them OUT of jail??? Are you kidding me?? Needless to say I will be making some phone calls to those that she receives her funding from and a few others this coming week. I'm just stunned and several in our community are outraged at this.

New week...it is what it is
A new week! yay! Countdown is on until we get the final results from the Appeals Court on Raye Dawn's appeal. I can't wait! The nightmare will be over for the most part. Everyone will be able to go on with their lives and forget about her and she can finally settle in and get used to her new home without people giving her such false hope. She's guilty at the VERY least of what she was convicted and right exactly where she belongs. After the recent hearing it's pretty safe to say, she's not going anywhere for a very long time. Justice for Kelsey as much as can be in this case when you are dealing with two liars, will have been served.
Personally I wish there was a hearing to give the good news.
I'd love to see the look on her face when she's told she's NOT getting out. I think she knows that though, how could she not? Not one hearing in a court of law on anything to do with this case has went her way...not one. I don't hold any hope on those who are staunch in their belief that she is "innocent'' will ever come to realize they are wrong. Many have been misled from the very start, facts and information in this case twisted into something it's not in order to gather followers and supporters by one person. Sad when people think someone has "inside" information and all it is, is the ''opinion'' of that person, or something simply made up. When you stand for the truth, there is no need to lie or twist or make things up. It is what it is.
A couple of behind the scenes things that will be coming down the pike, which are good and positive things. The new book that is being worked on and I can't wait until it's ready. Good things come to those who wait, as we have all found out with this whole trial mess.
A few have a road trip coming up, to meet a Kelsey supporter. That will be fun and a good stress reliever taking a trip with some awesome women! You never know what you might learn on such a trip! lol
We got some MUCH needed rain and am loving the cooler weather...for now lol 70's & 80's the rest of the week! Gotta love October in Oklahoma!

Exciting news!
I was given permission last night to post about this exciting news!
An insider to the Smith family for over 30 years has been writing a book. This book will give inside information as to what life was like in that family before Kelsey, during the time Kelsey was alive...which includes the time of the abuse and after.
I've read the rough draft of what's been written. Very well written and VERY informative. This book will address rumors and truths alike that have been going around for the past few years.
It includes short interviews and/or quotes from others that have inside information as to what transpired through the years. The readers will be shocked. Some of the contributors to the content have stated that they wish they would have came forward when Kelsey was alive. Don't we all. Although too late for Kelsey, I think the book is good and needed information. Maybe it will help someone who reads it to see that they need to speak out about a situation they are aware of....before it's too late.
The book will most likely be self published, but I do know that a family member of a major top publishing company in the world is waiting for the finished product. We'll see what happens.
I will keep my readers informed of the progress. No release date is set as of now. This has been an emotional rollercoaster for the author of this book. I don't know how she's done it. What I have read has broken my heart...again.
Keep the author of the book in your prayers, that she has the strength and courage to get through these memories and facts. Thank you.

~Remembering Kelsey~
Remembering a sweet, innocent child who lost her life needlessly from the failures of many...from her mother to the Judge that put her back into the home she was being abused in, to be murdered 5 years ago today.
I hope Key is remembering the child he sent home to be murdered. I hope her "mother" has a horrible day tomorrow. I hope the grandmother that was around Kelsey and saw her deteriorating, thinks about what she did wrong and what she could have and should have done to save her grandchild. This little girl should have and COULD have been saved.
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Briggs family during this most difficult time. I hope one day they are allowed the peace to heal from this tragedy. God be with them and bless them. RIP Kelsey and know you are loved and missed immensely.

More lies....
This was recently posted on the FB page for RD, and is full of lies.
" He told Kathie whatever she wanted to hear. She promised Porter a plea deal if he helped her. She then went to the DA (who'd been on the Smith's side before this) and threatened him if he didn't charge Raye with something that would stick. After Raye was charged, Porter got a plea deal, dropping the murder and sexual assault charges and pleading guilty to Enabling Child Abuse. The Briggs justify their excuse for asking the DA for a deal with Porter as them not being able to sit through a murder trial. Yet they were able to sit through Raye's trial. Unreal."
They are talking about Porter and Kathie. I didn't copy the whole post. Kathie did NOT PROMISE Porter a plea deal, NOR did any of the Briggs ASK for a plea deal for Porter. See?? Simple lies like this is what they tell to try to paint a picture of Raye Dawn being "railroaded" into prison. WHY? If you can't prove her innocence by telling the TRUTH, then that should tell all you supporters of hers something....maybe that she is NOT innocent???
And Kathie nor no one "threatened" the DA to "charge Raye with something that would stick". How ridiculous.
PORTERS ATTORNEY is the one who went to the DA and asked for the plea. Why don't these people know this? Or do they and just intentionally LIE about it? That part is easily proven. Call the DA and ask him or how about Porters attorney? Either one of them can tell you the truth (but many of you "RD Supporters" won't like it, you never do like the truth) Either one of them can explain the simple process of that plea with any of you.
And Kathie didn't say they couldn't sit through a murder trial but could RD's. One of the big factors was Kathie didn't want Porters child to have to testify against her father. Another MAJOR factor was Kathie did not believe the evidence showed OR proved that Porter was the killer. She believed at that time and still does that Raye Dawn killed Kelsey, so WHY would she want to try to prosecute someone for a crime they don't believe he committed? or a charge that he would simply walk on?? Trying to make Kathie Briggs out to be an evil woman does not make Raye Dawn Smith any less guilty in this crime. And I hate to break it to those less fortunate in the truth....but Kathie does not control the DA or the whole state of Oklahoma like ya'll try to imply. Common sense goes a lonnng way people!

Judge filed his ruling!!!!
WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!
The Judge filed his ruling on the jury misconduct and ruled there was NO jury misconduct where Brandi was concerned! ANOTHER victory for Kelsey!! Now it goes back to the Court of Appeals, which normally follows a Judge's ruling. Won't be long now and she will know her appeal is DENIED as it should be!

~Good News!!~
Finally, some good news in this mess. According to someone who knows the people who have Blaine, Blaine HAS been officially adopted!!! This person said that his parents are good people and take good care of Blaine. I'm happy to hear that he is with good people and happy to hear he's been adopted. That's something that can't be undone.

I guess first of all, I have to say Yes, I am "still a Briggs supporter", which means what Lysa? That I have an opinion of which I AM entitled to, whether or not it is the same as yours and whether or not you like it OR agree with it. I have NEVER denied supporting the Briggs. I also have not switched sides, nor waivered from my opinions since the beginning of this.

See, I know that I have spent way more time personally and on the phone with Kathie than you have with Raye Dawn OR Gayla. And just like you I have a right to believe who I choose. But see, another big difference is that I never just "took Kathie or anyone's word as "gospel", I researched the case myself. I wasn't TOLD about it, and did not find out about it on a youtube video. I didn't read emails with someone's interpretation of them after every paragraph, I'm smart enough to know what was being done and said in them, and did not need someone's OPINION ONLY of what was going on or being said. And unlike you, just listening to what two sides have to "say" is NOT researching the facts of the case. There are ALWAYS TWO sides to things, sometimes even more sides depending on how many ppl are involved. And I will say if the emails are what sent you to the other side, then you ARE where you belong! We wouldn't have tolerated the outright lies and intentional misrepresentation of the facts on KP. And someone talking stating things as fact that were not, would have been called on it.
Back to the emails. As far as they go, No, I wouldn't expect you to understand them, or why they were being written. However I do understand and didn't have to be TOLD WHY they were written. Secondly, the DA knew about the emails and thirdly, KATHIE turned them over to the DA on her own. Jody acted like she got something big when she posted them, stating that was her Christmas gift to the Briggs if I remember right.... but remember JODY wouldn't have had them if Kathie hadn't turned them over to the DA, ON HER OWN. I don't know who incorrectly told you that Kathie can't remember dates because she does...all of them, as shown by her testimony at different hearings.
As for Raye Dawn stating she would never live around there again...DUH!! Of course she wouldn't! So much evidence that little have seen, and/or taken the time to find and research. What a shame for the truth for Kelsey.

Benedryl I think many times before the visits so Kelsey would be sleeping when they got there.

My granddaughter did that when she was young for awhile too, and she was NOT abused nor neglected OR being tossed around to different households. But then not even being a mother yourself, I don't expect you to know all these things I guess. But just because you don't know something, don't understand it, or don't know it happens, doesn't mean it doesn't. There could have been numerous reasons why she was losing her hair/pulling it out.

As for your relatives that are allegedly "doctors" that give their "opinions" on a murder case simply by seeing a photograph of a child standing still...well, we won't go there. As for your insinuation that Kathie broke Kelsey's legs by taking her to gymnastics, did you talk to the instructor to see what dates Kelsey attended class? No, of course you did not, or you wouldn't be implying the ignorant scenario you are. Shame on you for that one too. But be assured that the instructor WAS interviewed.

And if you are trying to imply that Kelsey was seriously injured in that accident (which she was not) then that makes RD even MORE guilty, because she left the ER without letting Kelsey be seen by a doctor the night of the accident. And just because RD says that a nurse told her Kelsey wasn't hurt internally or she wouldn't be up running around, is simply NOT true. Of course THAT testimony will be interesting IF RD were to get another trial, which she won't.
How many days WAS it AFTER the accident that RD FINALLY took Kelsey to the doctor? 4 days? hhmm...and see, RD states that the night after the accident that Kelsey had a seizure...yet she knew Kelsey was in an accident that she NOW claims was so terrible, but her 2 yr old has a seizure the night after and she STILL does not take her to the doctor??? Can you say WILLFUL NEGLECT?? See you guys come up with all these different stories about things and excuses, but all you do, IF those stories were true, is PROVE RD to be more UNFIT and NEGLECTFUL than ever! As for that accident, it doesn't take much for them to "total" a vehicle anymore. Kelsey was in a carseat and the bruises and injuries she had were NOT from that accident. And if you all keep insisting they were, then RD is definately where she belongs because she was one VERY neglectful sorry mother.

Now to correct another lie....DHS did not keep Kelsey from the Briggs. It was Dr. Koons who suggested keeping Kelsey in one home to monitor the alleged "seizures". That is what stopped the visits with the Briggs. And unfortunately Kelsey did not live long enough after being returned to her "mother" to have anymore visits. OR for DHS to appeal Key's decision to go against their recommendation of phasing Kelsey back into Raye Dawn's home.

As for that accident, it doesn't take much for them to "total" a vehicle anymore. Kelsey was in a carseat and the bruises and injuries she had were NOT from that accident. And if you all keep insisting they were, then RD is definately where she belongs because she was one VERY neglectful sorry mother.

So, you are admitting by that statement that DHS had a GOOD REASON to take Kelsey from RD after they confirmed abuse by RD to Kelsey. hhmm...at least you admit to that. Now to correct another lie....DHS did not keep Kelsey from the Briggs. It was Dr. Koons who suggested keeping Kelsey in one home to monitor the alleged "seizures". That is what stopped the visits with the Briggs. And unfortunately Kelsey did not live long enough after being returned to her "mother" to have anymore visits. OR for DHS to appeal Key's decision to go against their recommendation of phasing Kelsey back into Raye Dawn's home.
You DO realize that you can be held accountable for the vicious lie you posted about Kathie threatening to kill her kids, right? Not only is it not true but so asinine that I will not address it again. Beating a dead horse will NOT bring it to life my dear. Jody stating something also does NOT make it true. And see, she IS going to get a chance in a court of law to PROVE that statement before long. She won't be able to though as that did not happen. I try to not go to that facebook page they have for Raye Dawn, as it disgusts me every time I do. People who know very little about the facts of this case, always spouting off. People like Lysa Bartlett, who openly admitted that she had not read any of the documents, only watched youtube videos...trying to pretend to be an expert on the case and facts surrounding the case. Her in particular needs a quick course in Law 101. If she'd just learn the basics she would sound less ignorant. Porter cannot be recharged with Murder. No matter how bad ya want it, no matter how much ya wish & pray for it, it's not going to happen. It's a little thing called Double Jeopardy. Porter has been charged with murder and as a result of that charge plea bargained down and convicted. RD on the other hand, has not yet been charged with murder, but she certainly can be. For those too lazy to do their own research, I posted the legal definition of the word for you.

Every court hearing continues to show which side is based on the truth, which is why every court hearing does not turn out so good for your prison princess. "The Smiths" were the one's that were the cause of there being two funerals to begin with. Raye Dawn went the day after her child died to file an order to keep Kelsey's daddy & paternal grandmother from attending her funeral. They also told the funeral director that Kelsey's name was just Smith.
You post over & over that there is enough evidence to put Kathie in jail for the rest of her life. Get over it. There is NO evidence because she has NOT broken the law. Do you guys not have any faith in Stephen Jones? Don't you think if there were ANY evidence of Kathie committing a crime that he would have brought that up during court? Been all over the news demanding her arrest? Once again, your wishing it, does not make it fact. And I beg to differ, there IS plenty of evidence to prove Raye Dawn guilty of not only the crime she is convicted of, but more. Smothermon didn't even have to use all of the evidence he had to convict her of the "enabling" charge and now that more evidence has come to light, it is my opinion that there IS enough to convict her of the MURDER of Kelsey.

I have to say you looked very good in court on the 1st. A lot better than I expected a woman who not only lost her child, but claims to be "innocent" and has sat in prison the past few years, to look. What didn't surprise me is that you sat emotionless and expressionless throughout the entire court hearing. That, I expected.
I know you know that I fully believe, based on the evidence that you are the one who murdered your daughter. I don't think you intentionally set out that day to kill Kelsey, but I do think you snapped and inflicted the fatal injuries to her. I also believe that you will be serving out your full sentence and rightfully so. My wish is that you would have gotten life which is in my opinion what you deserve.
I really don't "hate" you, I do however "hate" what you did to your child, what you allowed others to do to her and how you allowed others to treat her... including your own mother.
As a mother of five I have some questions that I'm sure will never be answered and that I will never understand. How could your hatred of Lance and his family have led up to and ended in such a tragedy? At that one moment when you could have stopped and turned back, what were you thinking? That if you couldn't have her, no one would? That you didn't spend all that time trying to keep Kelsey from Lance for nothing? Of course you knew he would fight for custody and win with all the abuse Kelsey was suffering at your hands.
Of course that leads to another question of something you said that day at the hospital after you were told your daughter was dead. I didn't think anything else I found out about you could shock me, but I was wrong. Even if your pathetic make believe story were true and you believed your child died of a seizure at that point... What would possess a "mother" to say that "it's probably for the best with what she'd have to go through with the Briggs? " How could a loving devoted mother say that about their own child who just died? Of course your blind can't think for themselves worshipers want to believe that wasn't said, but we both know it's true as it's in the caseworkers notes, she was there and heard the statement come from your very mouth. That statement in and of itself says sooo much. I think it's a shame that the jury didn't get to hear it.
I'd also like to know why you were on the phone with your mother during the time you say you and Kelsey were napping. Personally I think you knew you went too far and had hurt Kelsey bad, and you called your mom for advice and like always she told you what to do and you did just that. If there was nothing to hide in that conversation, then why lie and say you were sleeping that whole time? Why didn't you or your mother admit you had talked? See, that makes sense, because I had someone drive the exact route your mother would have had to have taken that day after getting the call from Porter about something being wrong with Kelsey and obviously she knew before he called and was ready to leave...that time of day, with the school traffic, it would be a huge stretch for her to make it all that way in the amount of time she allegedly did. I'm thinking about writing Porter and asking if he called your mom's cell phone or the office phone, because I believe she was waiting on his call. I know where he is and have since right after he was moved there, see, they messed up and had him listed in their public inmate list for awhile, so I wrote down his DOC #. Of course I have a couple other questions that I will be asking him too. I had someone ask him a couple years ago and he agreed I could write him, I just hadn't done it yet, but I think I'm ready. He knows I don't believe that he killed Kelsey so he has nothing to fear from speaking with me.
Maybe you were jealous of the Briggs family. They are such a loving and caring, close family. Nothing at all like your own. At one time, Kathie really did love you like a daughter. She never saw the evil hidden beneath your exterior. Not many did, unfortunately for your daughter. You blame all the problems in your marraige to Lance all on him, but you know the truth. Do I believe you were a battered wife? No. See, I've spoken with some of the people that ran around with you and were close to you during that time and I know how you acted and how you tried to get Lance to get violent with you, and how you were the violent one. I really feel for the man and his family that you lied to and told they were Kelsey's father and grandparents. Your selfishness has hurt a lot of people.
I certainly don't wish you any harm. I just want you to pay for what you did to your own child...by sitting right where you are and where you belong. I hope you are very lonely and feel that you can trust no one around you. I hope you live daily in fear of being beaten, not that I want you beaten, I just want you to feel that fear. I know your own mother has already tired of running to the prison for visits all the time, and being tied up with "Raye Dawn stuff all the time", I saw her own words in regards to that. So mommy isn't all about her little girl anymore....how does that feel Raye Dawn?? Do you sit there and wish you had family that really cared about you....you the person? and what you are going through and how you are feeling? how you are hurting? instead of only caring about their own reputation being ruined? Do you feel shut out and taken from those that love you? Good. I really, really hope you are feeling and experiencing these things. I hope what you did to Kelsey those last months and on Oct. 11th, 2005 haunt you in your dreams nightly. I hope you see Kelsey's beaten and battered body every time you close your eyes. That is my wishes for you dear Raye Dawn. Cruel? naww...see....those are the things your own 2 year old daughter felt and experienced....because of you and at your own hand. So why shouldn't you have to feel the same things she did? You get off lucky. Not only do you get to live....You don't have to feel the terror and pain of the life being viciously beaten out of you. You don't have to look into the eyes of the one person that was supposed to love you and protect you and save you as they take your breath from your body while inflicting unimaginable pain....and not understanding why. Personally I think your mother should be occupying a cell next to you. But she's living her own made hell, isn't she? As she should. I have to say you looked very good in court on the 1st. A lot better than I expected a woman who not only lost her child, but claims to be "innocent" and has sat in prison the past few years, to look. What didn't surprise me is that you sat emotionless and expressionless throughout the entire court hearing. That, I expected.
I know you know that I fully believe, based on the evidence that you are the one who murdered your daughter. I don't think you intentionally set out that day to kill Kelsey, but I do think you snapped and inflicted the fatal injuries to her. I also believe that you will be serving out your full sentence and rightfully so. My wish is that you would have gotten life which is in my opinion what you deserve.
I really don't "hate" you, I do however "hate" what you did to your child, what you allowed others to do to her and how you allowed others to treat her... including your own mother.
As a mother of five I have some questions that I'm sure will never be answered and that I will never understand. How could your hatred of Lance and his family have led up to and ended in such a tragedy? At that one moment when you could have stopped and turned back, what were you thinking? That if you couldn't have her, no one would? That you didn't spend all that time trying to keep Kelsey from Lance for nothing? Of course you knew he would fight for custody and win with all the abuse Kelsey was suffering at your hands.
Of course that leads to another question of something you said that day at the hospital after you were told your daughter was dead. I didn't think anything else I found out about you could shock me, but I was wrong. Even if your pathetic make believe story were true and you believed your child died of a seizure at that point... What would possess a "mother" to say that "it's probably for the best with what she'd have to go through with the Briggs? " How could a loving devoted mother say that about their own child who just died? Of course your blind can't think for themselves worshipers want to believe that wasn't said, but we both know it's true as it's in the caseworkers notes, she was there and heard the statement come from your very mouth. That statement in and of itself says sooo much. I think it's a shame that the jury didn't get to hear it.
I'd also like to know why you were on the phone with your mother during the time you say you and Kelsey were napping. Personally I think you knew you went too far and had hurt Kelsey bad, and you called your mom for advice and like always she told you what to do and you did just that. If there was nothing to hide in that conversation, then why lie and say you were sleeping that whole time? Why didn't you or your mother admit you had talked? See, that makes sense, because I had someone drive the exact route your mother would have had to have taken that day after getting the call from Porter about something being wrong with Kelsey and obviously she knew before he called and was ready to leave...that time of day, with the school traffic, it would be a huge stretch for her to make it all that way in the amount of time she allegedly did. I'm thinking about writing Porter and asking if he called your mom's cell phone or the office phone, because I believe she was waiting on his call. I know where he is and have since right after he was moved there, see, they messed up and had him listed in their public inmate list for awhile, so I wrote down his DOC #. Of course I have a couple other questions that I will be asking him too. I had someone ask him a couple years ago and he agreed I could write him, I just hadn't done it yet, but I think I'm ready. He knows I don't believe that he killed Kelsey so he has nothing to fear from speaking with me.
Maybe you were jealous of the Briggs family. They are such a loving and caring, close family. Nothing at all like your own. At one time, Kathie really did love you like a daughter. She never saw the evil hidden beneath your exterior. Not many did, unfortunately for your daughter. You blame all the problems in your marraige to Lance all on him, but you know the truth. Do I believe you were a battered wife? No. See, I've spoken with some of the people that ran around with you and were close to you during that time and I know how you acted and how you tried to get Lance to get violent with you, and how you were the violent one. I really feel for the man and his family that you lied to and told they were Kelsey's father and grandparents. Your selfishness has hurt a lot of people.

Insurance
I hear the much awaited "book" is soon to be sent to the publisher. I'm wondering if the author has the forethought to purchase the insurance policy that will protect them when/if they are sued over the content? Guess we will know soon enough. Seems like a small investment when writing something such as this. I know of a few attorneys that are anxiously awaiting the release of the book. This could get interesting. Time will tell.

Raye Dawn Smith's hearing
It's amazing how different people soak things up and interpret them. I sat through the entire hearing and heard the exact same evidence, saw the same exact things that everyone else saw and heard. Funny how people come away from the same precedings with such different opinions of how things went.
Someone last night sent me something Sherri had posted somewhere, where she stated that the hearing went well and in their favor and how Raye would be sharing hugs with them all soon. (something to that affect) Oddly, I came away from the same hearing convinced that Raye Dawn did not prove the juror misconduct against Brandi Oldham. If the name is misspelled, my apologies.
Jones called only two witnesses, the first being Brandi herself. I will give him credit, he tried very hard to discredit the girl, but didn't happen. No matter how many times he reworded the same question and asked....she gave the same answer. But...that's easy to do when you stick to the truth.
I'm not quite sure how anyone at all could be expected to remember minute details from 3 years ago. I wonder how many of my readers and the general public, can remember who they text on June 2, 2005. Or how about July 3rd of '09? I know I couldn't and not sure how she was expected to remember IF she sent a text on such and such and date and to who. She did not let him make her lie by forcing her to committ that she text this person at this exact time and exactly what was said. Her responses were appropriate and truthful. She was on the stand approx 2 hours I think and did well.
RD's second and last witness was Todd Bowman, Brandi's former supervisor at her former job. That testimony was great. He was proven a liar more than once. He testified he'd never been reprimanded at his former job (before being fired), that Brandi would call him at least twice a day and give him information about the trial, or say she'd read something on Kelsey's Purpose or watched news reports or read newspapers. The best was when Smothermon asked more than once about KP and what Brandi would tell him, to pin Todd down with his answers. Then the bombshell. Kathie Briggs turn to testify. Smothermon asked her about the website and she explained it was not accessible during RD's trial. (which IS the truth, as I was a memeber and moderator) When you would go to KP you would get the home page and a page with the Briggs family statement saying something to the affect that they were shutting the website down until the conclusion of the trial to make sure that Raye Dawn got a fair trial. When Smothermon asked her why they did that, she dropped the bomb...because Smothermon had asked them BEFORE the trial had even started to shut it down. He asked if they complied with his request and she stated once again the truth which is that they had. KP DID open back up the night of the last day of the trial, AFTER the verdict was handed down. Smothermon also had several documents from Todds employee file, where he asked specifically once again about reprimands in Todds file. Of course Todd once again denied he'd ever been officially reprimanded but Smothermon had the paperwork to prove it was a lie and that he had, and on more than one occasion. One of them was from a complaint that Brandi had made against him to the supervisor on some anger issues that had happened, which she did not know had been made a part of his employee file. Smothermon also proved that the affadavit that Mr. Bowman gave to Jones, containing a bunch of accusations against Brandi was given the same exact day he was fired from his job.
Several jurors were called and asked the same questions. Whether Brandi actively participated in the deliberations, to which they all responded yes. Did she ever say anything to them, or bring anything up to them that made them stop and say they wondered where she got that information from because they didn't remember hearing it during the trial, to which they all responded no. There were a few more questions and their responses proved that there was no misconduct from her.
Brandi was actually Smothermon's witness but was called first by Jones. I'm not sure where they Raye supporters are getting that they feel it went their way, when RD's only witness, Todd Bowman, was obviously proven to not have told the truth.
Surprisingly, Raye Dawn looked really good. Prison is apparently agreeing with her quite well. The suit she wore in court was obviously too big and intended to make her look small and vulnerable. Her face was expressionless and she hardly looked around at all. Straight faced throughout the entire hearing.
Now to address some issues that have been posted around the internet. I was sent some things that certain people had said and want to address them. First of all, Terri apparently posted about Kathie giving an interview, like she was shocked or something. First of all, Kathie tried to avoid giving interview and I will address that a little later. Secondly, why would Terri say anything about that? After Kelsey died, the Briggs family declined to give any interviews at the time. In fact, when they went to contact Terri to tell her they weren't giving interviews, Terri had already given one. In fact, Terri was before the camera giving interviews quite often at that time. She should have came to the hearing, maybe she could have given another one.
Janet made a comment on the internet "...funny how half of those people could not even look at her..ummm wonder why..." I wonder who it is she thinks "couldn't" look at Raye Dawn? I'm also wondering IF that were true, which it is not, how Janet would even know? She sat on the side closest to the door and in the front row, which means that everyone else was behind her and she was not turning around scanning the court room. I don't know of anyone that avoided looking at Raye Dawn. Many sat where they had a direct view of the prison princess. Again, that is not a true statement, no one avoided looking at Raye Dawn, why would they??
As for some of the comments by Lysa Bartlett and a couple others, let me explain something to you people. Kathie nor did any of the Briggs put themselves in front of the camera's. Kathie did not ask to do any interview either. I was there. After court when we were upstairs still talking after the meeting with Smothermon, a man in a suit came up and said that the media was "waiting for the Briggs" at the bottom of the stairs and they weren't leaving. A comment was made and the man said if they wanted to avoid the media, he could take them out a different way and bypass the media. That is what they chose to do. I was going to go on out the regular way and on to my car, but Kathie said to just come with them. The man took us downstairs a different way and the media waiting on the Briggs were avoided. We went outside and spoke briefly and Kathie walked across the courthouse yard and made it to the edge of the parking lot. I was crossing the street in front to my car. I heard someone yell loudly..."KATHIE BRIGGS"!!! And there was the media, hurrying down the sidewalk to catch up to Kathie. Raye supporters like to badmouth Kathie and say evil things when they really don't know what they are talking about. Kathie is NOT in the media nearly as often as she is asked to be. I cannot even count the amount of times she has been asked to give an interview on numerous stories in the news and she declines. But I guess those people can say what they want if it makes them feel better. Once again the truth is the truth and cannot be twisted and changed into someone's fantasy. No amount of wishing will change it. Which is why Raye Dawn Smith will be serving her entire sentence in Mabel Bassett prison where she rightfully belongs.

The check only contained Lance's name.

"Like in court the other day, I just pretend they don't exist. It's not exactly being in touch with reality, but by not acknowledging the hate and harassment, it can't bring me down." This was stated after comments claiming cyberbullying, cyberstalking and harrassment this person alleges happens to them. Again, I was in court. There was no reason for her to pretend anyone didn't exist, as no one approached her, said anything to her, or even cared or noticed she was there. The hearing was about Raye Dawn, not her. You know, the one who it used to be about for this person, before it became all about "me me me". Odd how she wouldn't even make eye contact with anyone. The one time she did make brief eye contact accidentally, the smile immediately drained from her face and she immediately looked at the floor. Guess it's hard to face people you lie about and stalk and harrass. I was going to introduce myself to her after court but she was gone quickly afterwards. I will say that for being as "close" to the family as she claims, the only family member I saw even speak to her was Sherri. And when the family was in their huddle, she was on the outside. But whatever, no one cares. No one harrassed her, or anything else at the hearing.
We all know Jones likes the media attention. I have to wonder if they all really believe it "went their way", why the Smiths AND Jones refused to comment to the media when asked??? You would have thought if it was such a great day for them in court they would have welcomed the chance to say so and shout their victory as it would have been a first for them since this whole mess started. Now THERE is something that makes ya go hhhmmm.
I do have to correct I believe it was Lysa who said something about if those people think that Judge is going to go against the "decision of 4 appellet Judges"....what in the world is that girl talking about? Apparently the RD supporters don't understand what this hearing was. There has been NO "decision" by the appellet Judges yet in this case. NONE. This was sent to this Judge to do an evidentiary hearing. He has 20 days to write his REPORT, citing case laws, etc and have the transcript ready for the attorney's. They have 5 days as usual after that, then it's sent back to the appeals court for THEIR decision. I don't know why any of them are in such a hurry to be fully disappointed, once again but to each their own.
After hearing the evidence presented myself in court, I have no doubt that there was no jury misconduct with anything to do with Brandi. I also have no doubt that Raye Dawn might as well settle in, she's not going anywhere for a very, very long time. More later...

Life is busy...but good!!
Wow, what a week it has been! Life is busy, busy, busy. It's at times like this that I have to wonder how Kathie Briggs has managed to keep her sanity. Life is full of hoops and curves all on it's own. Then to have to deal with the hate, the threats and the continuous efforts of one person to destroy Kathie....it's a bit much, but somehow Kathie manages to get through it and maintain her dignity. Seems someone has been very busy promoting their lies and hate. And it's getting some attention, just not the kind they wanted or thought. It's said..."be careful what you wish for" and sometimes that's true.
Sometimes people draw attention and sympathy for the very one's they are trying to destroy, not themself. They are shut down because of their deceit and lies, but give platform to those they tried to take down. Along the way, someone in the background takes notice and before long in their research for the truth, they become disgusted at the crucifixion of the innocent and they become involved to right a wrong, without being approched, without being recruited, without the lies and deceit...and it's on.
Seems when you contact people and you deceive them, when they find out you aren't on the up & up, and they take a look at the facts for themselves, they are no longer interested in being a part of spreading your diseased lies and hate. ( Imagine that.) And without the participation and presentation of the truth...they just aren't intersted in the lies and deceit being promoted any longer...so sorry about that.
I wonder how a person's conscience allows them to do some of the things people do. Is fame and fortune worth trying to destroy innocent people? I guess to some it is. Is it worth destroying yourself and becoming a failure in the process? I guess to some it is if you can blame your self destruction and failures on others. I think people that don't take responsibility for themselves and their own actions attract the same kind of people. Raye Dawn seems to have in my opinion, attracted many like her, to her.
I can't wait for Sept. 1st!! Another step closer to putting the "poor Raye Dawn" saga behind us. Closer to forgetting about her and letting her get settled in her little cell and get comfortable, where she will be spending the next 20 yrs. Closer to the Briggs being able to go back to as "normal" a life as they can without their precious Kelsey. They will never be normal again without her, but I'm praying they can get close to it. Getting this hearing over with and the appeal behind them will certainly be big steps towards that. And the rest of us can forget the ignorance that spreads lies and hate in their efforts to free a much guilty woman.

One thing I have learned that has shocked me to the core, is that some people actually want to be a victim. For whatever reason, whether to validate themselves or to sell a book or fame and fortune. It's sad because a REAL victim would give anything in the world to NOT be a victim, but sadly they have no choice. Being a victim of DV I had a hard time understanding what I have seen, and still do. It angers me that some portray themselves and compares themselves to real victims. IF they are a victim, they are a victim of themselves only. They choose that. They antagonize, lie, attack, threaten, stalk, harrass and agg people on, it's like they beg to be attacked online and badmouthed to validate their purpose. ? I don't know why, I just know it's sad and disgusting all at the same time. I guess being a "victim" in their mind gives them a purpose. What a sad existence. Soon that will fade away too. I have also been pleasantly surprised that at least some of the national media people do actually check out stories they are presented with. Just because someone says something or claims something... they have the smarts to know doesn't make it fact. That's good lol Now I will have a little more faith in some of the shows I used to enjoy.

Sometimes people draw attention and sympathy for the very one's they are trying to destroy, not themself. They are shut down because of their deceit and lies, but give platform to those they tried to take down. CONGRATS SMOTHERMON!!!
CONGRATULATIONS TO DISTRICT ATTORNEY RICHARD SMOTHERMON!!!
Personally, now that I think about it, I'm glad that Roberson took the advise of those giving it and focused his campaign on Kelsey's case. Maybe people expected that if the Smith family were supporting him, and those in that clan that couldn't even vote for him, were out campaigning and putting out signs, then there must have been a reason for it.
The best man for the job obviously won and I had no doubt at all that he would. I am still confident that RD will NOT win her appeal, but at least now one is not left to wondering if she would just be turned loose, to walk away from responsibility for what she did to her own child IF she were to win her appeal. One more step to being confident RD will NOT be getting out of prison any time soon. I hope she enjoys the next 20 years being where she belongs.

Why in the world you always think everything is about YOU, I will never know or understand. What is it in my post that makes you think that was directed at you? If you want to apply it to yourself, then by all means feel free to do so. To the real person it was directed to....I really hope your family finds you some help....and soon. To the self serving person who thinks everything is about themself, maybe you need a new shrink...not everything in this world or that is posted on the internet is about you. Amazing how self centered and self serving you are. Though this shouldn't have suprised me.

When you lie and deceive people....
When you lie and deceive people by the masses, your evil WILL catch up with you. It seems that trying to USE people that have been in DEVASTATING circumstances do NOT like being USED for one's own personal agenda/gain. People don't like being LIED about and USED. That makes them start looking into things/claims being made by the user/abuser. To USE people in a false manner is ABUSING them and their tragedy's. Sad that people destroy themselves and try to blame others. Evil will get you nowhere. Spreading hate and evil and abusing people will catch up with you eventually. The family of this person should really seek some good mental help for this person. They definately are NOT healthy in their mind. STRANGERS who have been in devastating, tragic circumstances are now being drug into this person's sick plots/agenda and they are none too happy about it. It's not only the legal ramifications that could be devastating to this person's family, but the loss of the mind of their loved one. Obsession is NOT healthy. When that obsession affects stranger after stranger and innocent person after innocent person, it's time for the family to step in and get this desperate, obviously ill person some help.

Smothermon vs. Roberson
THOSE WHO SUPPORT KELSEY, please watch this blog for upcoming news and a plan of action to come.
I don't know how many of you know that the DA campaign takes place this month. (JULY) Richard Smothermons opponent is a Mr. Roberson. Guess who the Smith clan and their leader of Raye Dawn's fan club is supporting? Obviously NOT Smothermon. They surrounded Mr. Roberson at the last forum and are now all sporting his signs in their yards. I will be doing some extensive research on Mr. Roberson and will keep you all updated, if not on here through private emails. Mr. Roberson only needs 3 more years of service to qualify for a full retirement. With no motivation/need of running again, we all know what that means. We need to be writing some letters to the editor of the local newspapers and make sure everyone understands people will NOT support someone who is willing to let a person who contributes to the murder of their child or actually murders their child out of prison for ANY reason. IF Raye Dawn by some slim chance wins her appeal, she MUST be held accountable and it will be totally UNACCEPTABLE FOR HIM TO DROP THIS CASE!! In my opinion I really hope campaign favors are not returned for such a promise. This man was the DA many, many years ago. Which will provide some info on how he treats certain types of crime.

I'm so sick of cops, Judges and attorney's that either don't know the laws or refuse to do their jobs or a combination of BOTH, when it comes to Domestic Violence victims!! Recently I was put into contact with a woman that is in the process of leaving her husband. Of course alcohol is a major factor, as it is in a lot of DV cases.
The woman has one minor child. She states the man hasn't been physically abusive with her, but very mentally and verbally abusive. I've always stated those types of abuse are often ignored and are very damaging. I remember telling people that the bruises you see on the outside fade away, but the bruises left on the inside from the mental and emotional abuse never go away. And that is so true. Her alleged abuser was very physically abusive as well in his past marraige. Many court documents relfect his abusive past with women. In fact, he is currently under a Protection From Abuse order out of another state's court.
She has removed herself and her child from the home and the threats to kill her and her family started. Of course she made calls to her local law enforcement, she told them he was drinking and that he was harrassing her and her child and making threats. Her abuser has a history where they live because of his past abusive behavior, so the cops know what is going on. Instead of going to talk to him, they CALL him on the phone and tell him to stop harrassing her. Now seriously....how many times do you honestly think a cop is going to CALL someone to tell them to stop harrassing someone instead of going to pay them a visit? Why call?? Because they know from past experience when he's drinking he is dangersous?
This woman's alleged abuser as I stated is already under a PFA from a past marraige. One he has gotten away with violating time and time again for many years. FEDERAL LAW states that while a person is under a court order of a Protection From Abuse order they are NOT allowed to be in possession of firearms OR ammunition. Actually, it is a FELONY count for EACH weapon and EACH piece of ammo. This woman notified her local police department AND sheriff office that he IS in possession of firearms, and told them exactly where they are in their home. TWO WEEKS AGO, her local LE asked for and received a copy of the existing court order, where to be clear, it specifically states this person is not to be in possession of weapons or firearms. PLUS, this man has prior convictions of violating PFA's and crimes of DV. Again, FEDERAL LAW states that after a conviction of DV crimes, a person cannot buy nor possess firearms. This woman has tried for several days to contact someone at an ATF office and has NOT received a call back from anyone.
After the alleged threats towards her, she again notified her local LE agencies. She filed for an emergency order of protection for her and her child and it was immediately granted by the local Judge. They go to court on that in a few days. Now keep in min d that she once again made LE aware of the firearms he is illegally possessing. By law, when they serve such an order and are aware there are firearms present, they ARE to confiscate those weapons and ammunition, which they did NOT. But they DID send THREE officers to serve that piece of paper, and observed him consuming alcohol during serving this order.
This past weekend, by order of the Judge she was able to return to her home to retrieve personal items from their home, with LE with her. Of course her alleged abuser was not agreeable to some of the items she wanted from her home.
Now get this!!! One of the items she had on her list and wanted from the home was a rifle she had purchased for her young son, which was still in the home and still in the POSSESSION of the man under a court order to NOT be in possession of firearms. The officer would not let her remove the weapon from the home. AMAZING. It is specificaly written on her order of protection about his violence when he consumes alcohol. While the officers made him remain outside the home while she went inside to retrieve personal belongings, this man asked one of the officers to go get his beer and bring it outside to him. THE OFFICER DID AS HE WAS ASKED BY THIS MAN!! and brought a 30 pack of beer outside to him. Now also keep in mind that the man knew exactly what day and time his wife and LE would be at their home to retrieve personal items. He had one of his vehicles backed up to the garage door to where no one could get into or open that garage door. LE knows that this man has a history of violence and threats to kill with weapons. Now someone explain to me exactly HOW SMART those officers were in the first place by NOT securing the property whether by searching the premises for the weapons they know he has or by making him leave the premises while they were there at the property. 2nd...by not only allowing him to consume alcohol but also by bringing it to him!!!
In my opinion this LE agency is in DIRE NEED of some DV training. A typical threatening scenario such as this could have played out to where not only the woman ended up dead but the officers as well. NOT VERY SMART on their part!
Of course the woman was upset by the events that took place that day and contacted the Sheriff's office about the unprofessional behavior of the officers. She once AGAIN voiced her concerns that he is allowed to keep possession of firearms in direct violation of not only a court order but also a direct violation of a federal law of having weapons after prior convictions of DV crimes. The officer told her he would have to check on a few things. As of last night, she still has not heard a word from that officer in this matter. How long do you suppose it takes to look up federal statues on a computer? call the ATF, the local DA and contact the court where the prior incidences and convictions took place? Apparently long enough to allow him to carry out his threats of killing her.
Most officers will admit that a DV call is the call they ALL hate the most. Those calls can turn deadly in seconds. They know that. Why is it they have a problem such as in this case of going to the home of this abuser and face him to tell him to "knock off the harrassing", but they don't have any problem in a woman and child having to face the abuser? The victim isn't afforded the opportunity to deal with her abuser through the safety of a phone. Why is it that these officers are not unholding FEDERAL LAWS??? Why leave weapons in this man's possession that not only put the woman and her child in more direct danger, but also the officers who have to deal with this case? You can be assured these officers do NOT want to go take this man's weapons as it is a great possibility there could be a shootout in the process. They don't want to die....I understand that. But I can assure them, this woman does not want him to be able to consume his nightly alcohol, which only contributes to his anger, grab the weapon he always has beside him and get into his truck and drive to where her and her son are at and shoot and kill her in front of her son, or worse yet, have her son killed in front of her. They don't want to die either. Who is getting PAID to protect whom???
These two law enforcement agencies are in gross negligence of performing their job duties. They are NOT upholding the law and they are NOT protecting the law abiding citizens of their community of which they receive a paycheck to do so. She has done what she can do. She's notified LE of the threats, prior violence, prior history of convictions, abuse and orders of the court. She has asked for help. She has filed for an order of protection for her and her son and it was granted by a Judge. LE is refusing to uphold the law and enforce not only the law but court orders. THIS IS EXACTLY WHY WOMEN DO NOT SEEK ORDERS OF PROTECTION FROM THEIR ABUSERS!!!!
Statistics prove that this is a very dangerous time for a DV victim, the probability of death greatly increases during this volatile time. If she had not filed for a protection order and was killed by her alleged abuser, typically and very often, the woman is blamed for NOT taking advantage of the avenues such as protective orders that are available to help protect her and her children. Yet women do as they are expected with the false expectations that LE and the courts will do THEIR PART and enforce the orders and help to keep them safe. What happens when the victim does their part but LE does not? If she were to be killed now, typically the scenario goes, LE is interviewed and will state something to the effect of...well she had a protective order but it really is just a piece of paper. We can't be everywhere at once. Or some other LAME excuse for them NOT DOING THEIR JOBS THEY ARE PAID TO DO!
This kind of CRAP that is going on in this woman's case is what gets women and children who are victims of domestic violence, killed on a daily basis!! We have discussed the possibilty of contacting the media. Two problems with that. Not only will it further anger her alleged abuser, but when documents and details are publicly released proving that LE is not doing their jobs, what happens when they are angered by that and she places the next call for help from them?? Of course that is NOT supposed to happen but those of us that have dealt with DV issues and cases know it does. DV victims are often in a no win situation when this kind of crap goes on.
I am appalled to say the least by the actions and LACK OF, on the part of these two LE agencies. I WILL be writing a letter to this woman's local sheriff office, demanding that they stand up for what their badges represent and for what they are PAID to do, and help this woman keep herself and her son safe. It is appalling that they have done nothing about this man violating federal law and in the process they themselves are violating not on the trust of dependence of their local community but they themselves are also violating federal law.

She's notified LE of the threats, prior violence, prior history of convictions, abuse and orders of the court. She has asked for help. She has filed for an order of protection for her and her son and it was granted by a Judge. LE is refusing to uphold the law and enforce not only the law but court orders. THIS IS EXACTLY WHY WOMEN DO NOT SEEK ORDERS OF PROTECTION FROM THEIR ABUSERS!!!!
Statistics prove that this is a very dangerous time for a DV victim, the probability of death greatly increases during this volatile time. If she had not filed for a protection order and was killed by her alleged abuser, typically and very often, the woman is blamed for NOT taking advantage of the avenues such as protective orders that are available to help protect her and her children. Yet women do as they are expected with the false expectations that LE and the courts will do THEIR PART and enforce the orders and help to keep them safe. What happens when the victim does their part but LE does not? If she were to be killed now, typically the scenario goes, LE is interviewed and will state something to the effect of...well she had a protective order but it really is just a piece of paper. We can't be everywhere at once. Or some other LAME excuse for them NOT DOING THEIR JOBS THEY ARE PAID TO DO!
This kind of CRAP that is going on in this woman's case is what gets women and children who are victims of domestic violence, killed on a daily basis!! We have discussed the possibilty of contacting the media. Two problems with that. Not only will it further anger her alleged abuser, but when documents and details are publicly released proving that LE is not doing their jobs, what happens when they are angered by that and she places the next call for help from them?? Of course that is NOT supposed to happen but those of us that have dealt with DV issues and cases know it does. DV victims are often in a no win situation when this kind of crap goes on.
I am appalled to say the least by the actions and LACK OF, on the part of these two LE agencies. I WILL be writing a letter to this woman's local sheriff office, demanding that they stand up for what their badges represent and for what they are PAID to do, and help this woman keep herself and her son safe. It is appalling that they have done nothing about this man violating federal law and in the process they themselves are violating not on the trust of dependence of their local community but they themselves are also violating federal law.
